A120S In-Line On/Off Switch

The Shure A120S In-Line On/Off Switch is an in-line, balanced, locking or momentary switch for a microphone. The A120S can be configured in several ways to meet different user requirements. Typical use cases include adding Latch On/Off, Push-To-Talk, or Push-To-Mute (cough button) to a microphone. The A120S is contoured to fit comfortably in the hand, and an attached belt clip rotates to four positions to allow convenient mounting. The A120S can be wired Normally-Open or Normally-Closed, and can be used with a balanced mono audio signal or an unbalanced stereo audio signal. (Note: A120S is supplied unterminated; the installer must solder appropriate wiring to provide the function desired.) Its pushbutton combines with a rotary knob to provide either spring-return momentary or locking action. The unit is supplied with a crimp-on strain relief for 6.4mm (0.25-in.) diameter cable and with a flex relief for either large or small diameter cables.

The Shure A15BT Bridging Transformer can be used to connect balanced and unbalanced devices having different signal levels or impedances. Depending on the configuration, the A15BT provides a minor increase or decrease in signal level. Can be used to: • Connect a mono output from an FM tuner or receiver to the input of a microphone mixer • Connect a high-impedance microphone to a medium-impedance input on an audio recorder • Connect a balanced line-level output from a mixer to an unbalanced Aux-level input on an amplifier or recorder • Convert an unbalanced Aux-level output to a balanced 600 Ohm line output (example: Shure SCM268 mixer)

A15AS In-line Switchable Attenuator

The Shure A15AS Switchable In-Line Attenuator reduces the level of any balanced microphone or line-level signal by 15, 20, or 25 dB. It is specially suited to reducing the level of a high-output microphone to prevent it from overloading the microphone input of a mixer or recorder in applications with high sound pressure levels. In addition, the A15AS may be used to reduce the level of a line-level mixer output to prevent overloading the aux-level input of a recorder. The A15AS is equipped with a female 3-pin XLR connector on the input side, and a male 3-pin XLR connector on the output side. Attenuation is controlled by a three-position slide switch. The A15AS allows phantom power to pass through from the mixer to the microphone, so it can be used with condenser microphones.

A15HP In-Line High Pass Filter

The Shure A15HP in-line filter passes mid and high frequencies while reducing low frequencies. The A15HP helps to eliminate electrical and mechanical noise in an audio system such as 60Hz electrical hum from AC power lines, low-frequency rumble caused by wind noise or air conditioning system, and stage/floor noise transmitted to a microphone through the microphone stand. The A15HP affects frequencies below 100 Hz. When connected to the microphone input on a typical mixer (800 ohms impedance or higher), the A15HP reduces low frequencies by 12dB per octave. The Shure A15LA 50 dB attenuator reduces the level of an audio signal by 50dB. This allows a line level output such as an aux level output from a mixer or playback device, to be connected to a microphone input on another mixer or recorder. Female XLR to Male XLR. A15PRS Switchable Phase Reverser

The Shure A15PRS reverses the phase (polarity) of a balanced audio signal. Typical use applications include correcting polarity reversal caused by a wiring error in a microphone cable; connecting an unbalanced high impedance microphone having the “hot” signal on pin 3 to the input of a mixer that requires the “hot” signal on pin 2; and reducing phase cancellation/comb filtering between two signals that are of opposite polarity. An in-line switch permits instant selection of either normal or reversed polarity for comparison purposes.

A15RF In-Line RF Interference Attenuator

The Shure A15RF reduces interference from AM radio stations that may bleed into microphone lines when using long cables in microphone installations such as suspending choir microphones. The A15RF passes phantom power, and can be used with condenser microphones. For best results, the A15RF should be installed at the end of the cable nearest to the microphone. In situations where this is not practical, the A15RF can also be installed at the mixer input, although RF attenuation may be somewhat reduced. In cases of extreme RF interference, two or more A15RF’s can be placed in series in the same microphone line, preferably with one at each end of the microphone cable. In cases where interference is present but not audible, the A15RF can improve perceived sound quality by removing low-level interference components from the audio signal path.

A15TG Tone Generator

The Shure A15TG Tone Generator is a battery-powered 700 Hz signal source used to troubleshoot audio systems by checking microphone lines for correct patching and detecting unusual noise that is present. The output level of the A15TG is approximately –42 dBV. This allows it to be used with either microphone level or line level inputs and the barrel design allows it to be connected to a microphone cable or directly to a mixer input. The A15TG can tolerate the presence of phantom power or a short circuit in the line that it is driving. Additional features of the A15TG include a recessed On-Off switch, a Male XLR output connector, and a removable end cap allowing for easy battery installation and removal. Battery life is 1,000 hours of continuous use.

The Shure A95U is a reversible transformer that matches low- or high-impedance microphones to high- or low-impedance inputs. The transformer permits use of very long microphone cables with high-impedance microphones. However, when connecting a high-impedance microphone, limit the cable length between the microphone and the transformer to 4.6 m (15 foot). The cable from the transformer to the low-impedance input can be any desired length. The transformer prevents high-frequency loss, level loss, and pickup of noise and hum. The A95U comes furnished with a Male XLR connector on the low-impedance end, with a 1/4 inch phone plug and phone jack adapter on the high-impedance end.

A96F Camcorder Interface

The Shure A96F transformer connects microphones with an XLR-type connector to the 3.5 mm inputs found on camcorders and other recording devices. It increases the signal level from the microphone, provides a balanced input, and prevents distortion due to the DC bias voltage typically found in camcorder microphone inputs. The A96F can be modified for microphones rated at 150 ohms. This modification is only necessary if the output level from the A96F is insufficient for your recording device. It features a female XLR connector on the microphone end and .6 meter (2 ft) cable with 3.5 mm phono plug on the recorder end.
