Stylus Replacement
Installing a Phono Cartridge Stylus
A Shure replacement stylus will restore your Shure cartridge to its originally specified performance levels. We
strongly advise against the use of non-Shure styli with our cartridges. Such imitations will not perform the same as the
stylus being replaced, and, more importantly, could cause permanent damage to your records - severe mistracking can ruin a
record in a single play.
- Grasp the sides of the stylus grip between your thumb and forefinger.
- Gently withdraw the stylus assembly from the cartridge body.
- Gently insert the new stylus assembly tube into the cartridge, at a slight upward angle, until the stylus grip touches
the cartridge body. DO NOT FORCE.
